Founded by William Sydney Engledoe in 1943, our family‑run funeral home has served Cape Town communities for over 80 years. Across eight decades, our family has had the honour of guiding more than 10 000 families through their most difficult days with dignity and compassion. What documents are needed for a funeral?
We handle paperwork on your behalf. You’ll typically need a doctor’s medical certificate of cause of death (BI‑1663) and identification and address details for the deceased. Our team will advise you on any additional documents required.
Do you offer eco‑friendly options?
Yes. We can arrange environmentally friendly funerals using wooden coffins and avoiding metal or chemical glues to reduce environmental impact, as recommended by the City of Cape Town.
